Alma Harmon Obituary

Alma Aileen Lazenby Harmon, 94, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Gentiva Hospice.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in the Porter Chapel at First Baptist Church 212 12th Street Columbus, GA 31901 with Dr. Jimmy Elder officiating. A private family interment will be held at the Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10:30 AM Wednesday morning in the Porter Chapel at First Baptist Church according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Mrs. Harmon was born March 3, 1921 in Gastonia, NC daughter of the late Charles Francis and Anna Gertrude Mauney Lazenby. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William Allen Harmon, Jr. and grandson, Kelsey Lance Kennon, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Cassandra Kay Kennon, granddaughter, Angela Kennon Harrell (Edward) of Macon, GA, great granddaughter, Claire Kennon Middlebrooks of Macon, GA, great grandsons, Edmund Walker Middlebrooks (Sidney), William Henry Middlebrooks of Macon, GA, great grandchildren, Emily Kennon Wynn and Kelsey Lance Kennon, III, of Columbus, GA, caregiver and friend, Jackie Mobley, and friends, Roy Watson and Faye Drawdy of Columbus, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church or to Gentiva Hospice 100 Brookstone Centre Parkway Columbus, GA 31904.
