Dora Motos Obituary
Dora Laine Motos, 91, of Columbus, GA, died Friday, October 21, 2016 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Motos was born July 23, 1925 in Glascow, Scotland, daughter of the late Henry Harold Herbert Laine and Isabella Getchel Laine. She dedicated her life to helping other people as a Nurse CNA. She retired from The Medical Center and Doctors Hospital and was the first retiree from Hughston Hospital. Mrs. Motos was recognized for Hughston Hospital's Humanitarian Frist Award in 2001. She loved the arts and enjoyed entertaining patients and staff. Most of all, she loved her family and friends.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Motos;sons-in-law, Jerry Connally and Fred Zirkelbach; granddaughter, Kimberly Zirkelbach; and sisters, Jean Weedall and Frances Steed.
Survivors include her two daughters, Martha Zirkelbach of Columbus, GA and Brenda Connally Brown (Duane) of Ellerslie, GA; son, Jimmy Motos (Barbara) of Columbus, GA; 5 grandchildren, Jarrod Connally of Box Springs, GA, Jason Connally (Karey) of Columbus, GA, Jennifer Anderson (Wade) of Birmingham, AL, Jimbo Motos (Morganne) of Brunswick, GA and Chris Zirkelbach of Columbus, GA; 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of her physicians and nursing who took great care of her.
