Faye Dacey Obituary

Faye Martin Dacey (Peanut Martin), 75, beloved mother and friend, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in Columbus, GA.

Born in Columbus, GA December 25, 1942 to the late Robert Hazel Martin and the late Doris Mae Thomaston Martin, Faye was a 1960 graduate of Jordan Vocational High School in Columbus, GA. Faye retired after many years employed by AFLAC in Columbus, GA.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and true love, John Vincent Dacey, who passed away September 13, 2009 and sisters Brenda M. Coffey of Cleveland, GA and Sue Moorefield of Columbus, GA.

Survivors include her son, David Bruce Ellerbee, Jr. of Columbus, GA, her sister Mable (Carlton) Wilson of Phenix City, AL and her brother Roger Alan (Allison) Martin of Burlington, NC.

Survivors also include nephew Jeff Weaver, Cleveland, GA, nieces Suzanne Moorefield, Columbus GA, Terrie (Robert) Klemm, Dahlonega, GA, Tammy (Cliff) Newman, Wesson, MS, and Kelly Williams, Phenix City, AL, grand nieces Taylor Burke, Reagan Newman, Olivia Martin, Savannah Martin and grand nephews Jaxson Klemm and Kade Klemm.

Faye will also be missed by stepsons Michael (Tracey) Dacey, Atlanta, GA, Sean (Cheryl) Dacey, Atlanta, GA, and Cameron, Christian, Cali, Jansen and Jillian Dacey.

Faye's infectious smile was always on display and she never met a stranger. A diehard UGA Bulldog and Atlanta Falcons fan, she could always be found in front of the TV with friends on football weekends. Faye's sports interests also included watching the Atlanta Braves on summer evenings with her late husband and true love Jack Dacey. Faye and Jack retired to Panama City Beach FL and could always be found poolside or enjoying the beach life. Faye or Peanut as she was known growing up in Columbus was a member of the JVHS band during her school years and was fond of dancing and socializing with friends.

In lieu of flowers, Please feel free to make a donation to your favorite local charity or shelter. Faye was fond of cats and her grand dogs so please consider donations to a pet friendly organization.

A private family memorial service was held in Columbus, GA. A public celebration of her life will be held in the future and friends and acquaintances will be invited.

Remember Faye this fall, on UGA Bulldogs game days by raising a glass and shouting a hearty Goooooooo Dogs on the kickoffs.
