Frederick Boulter Obituary

Frederick J. Boulter 95, of Columbus died Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, December 9, 2017 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga. 31907 with Pastor Roy White officiating. A private Interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery Columbus. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Boulter was born on March 30, 1922 in Doster, Michigan to Reuben and Eliza (Osgood) Boulter. He married his wife, Jeanette Johnson on December 20, 1988 and they lived in Moultrie, GA. Due to health reasons they moved to Columbus, Georgia permanently in March of 2017. Fred worked for NAARCO in Parchment, Michigan and did consulting work for them in Moultrie, GA where he met and fell in love with Jeanette. He was the head of Maintenance and Engineering until his retirement in 1988. He also served his country in the US Army WWII from November 17, 1942 until January 5, 1946 in the 8th Infantry Division 353rd Engineer Construction Battalion.
Fred loved sports of all kind and had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved to do wood working and made several things for all of his family members that they will cherish forever. He was a longtime member of The Otsego Moose Lodge 345 where he loved to play pull tabs and developed a love for the claw machine. He also loved to fish and hunt and loved going fishing with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Reuben & Eliza Boulter and his 3 brothers, Clarence, Samuel, and Bliss Boulter and his very special sister, Marion (Boulter) Ahlberg. His oldest daughter, Cindy (Boulter) Edson sadly passed of breast cancer in September of 1990.
Fred is survived by his wife Jeanette (Johnson) Boulter, her twin sister Juette Person, his mother-in-law Myrtle Johnson, his sons Andy Boulter of Gobles, Jon (Lisa) Boulter of Plainwell Michigan, his daughter Lori (Kent) Robinson of Columbus, Ohio, his step-son Bill E Dietrich of New York, NY, and his step-daughter Karin (David) Milner of Albany, GA, 9 grandchildren, Tricia Torr, Jamie (Jill) White, Shanon (Colin) Browne, Ryan (Jaime) Boulter, Lindsey Boulter, Lindsay (Nick) Marshall, Michael Boulter, Blake Boulter and Luke Boulter and 4 great grandchildren. A special niece Lisa (Don) Munn of Plainwell survives him as well.

There will be a memorial service held in Plainwell Michigan in the spring of 2018. Details to follow.
