Herbert Lauve Obituary
MSG (Ret.) Herbert Edward Lauve, Jr., 91, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Oconnee Regional Hospital in Milledgeville, GA.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Father McArthy officiating. A private interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, June 22, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Lauve was born October 27, 1923 in Baton Rouge, LA, son of the late Herbert Edward Lauve, Sr. and Mary Juanita Martinez Lauve. He retired after serving 20 years in the U. S. Army and later retired from civil service. Baseball was a huge part of his life and he coached Little League for many years at Sally Little League. He was Captain of the Senior Slow Pitch Softball League 1980 Champions.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Harbuck.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Mary Ann Lauve of Columbus, GA; son, Herbert Edward Lauve, III (Lisa) of Columbus, GA; daughters, Becky Ann Ragsdale (George) of Carrollton, GA and Mary Juanita Simonton (Monte) of Cataula, GA; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; seven step grandchildren and ten step great grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted; however, those so desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 5900 River Rd. Suite 301, Columbus, GA 31904. Play ball!
