Lillie Nunnally Obituary
Lillie Ruth Huston Nunnally, 93, resident of Columbus, died on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Gentiva Hospice.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery with Rev. Norman Drummond officiating. Family and friends are to gather at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 at 1:15 PM to go in a procession to Ft. Benning.
Mrs. Nunnally, daughter of the late William Henry Huston and Minnie Elizabeth (Bearden) Huston, was born on December 8, 1922 in Childersburg, AL. After high school, she traveled around the United States with friends and met her husband, Otis at Ft. Benning, GA. She stayed at home and cared for their three children and then worked for Civil Service at Ft. Benning until retirement. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church for many years and actively involved in the Red Cross.
She is survived by two daughters, Terry Nunnally Gutman and her husband, Albert of Cataula, GA and Janet Nunnally Pearson and her husband, Bruce of Newnan, GA; one son, David Nunnally and his wife Sandy of Donalsonville, GA.; one brother, Doyle Nunnally of Anderson, S.C., granddaughters, Sarah Elizabeth Todd and Kendall Murrell Wahlert and her husband, Ricky; great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, 2461 Broadmoor Drive, Columbus, GA. 31903.
