Liselotte Paul Obituary

Liselotte "Lisa" Schneeweiss Paul, 89, of Columbus, GA passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Morningside Assisted Living.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, November 21, 2015 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church 4026 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Dr. Shirley Redmond officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 PM at the church immediately before the service according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

She was born March 13, 1926 in Vienna, Austria daughter of the late Karl Friedrich and Stefanie Harz Schneeweiss. During WWII she and her sister fled Vienna in 1945 and settled near Salzburg, where she met the love of her life, Delbert Paul, who was a member of the U.S. Army. They were married for 55 years. She came to the U.S. in 1948 and became an American Citizen in 1952. She was a faithful member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Altar Guild and Tuesday morning bible study. She was a homemaker and volunteer in numerous community activities.

She was a loving and faithful military wife, supporting Delbert through his twenty six years of active duty, including his service in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert and sisters, Kamilla Penka and Margarete Klee.

Survivors include her three children, Karl Paul (Janis) of Atlanta, GA, Geri Regnier (Mike) of Columbus, GA and Jim Paul (Angela) of Tucker, GA, eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Glasgow, Ashley Kirby, Amanda Regnier, Brad Regnier, Jeremy Paul, Allison Paul, Stephen Paul and Jennifer Paul, five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews in Austria and Tennessee, and a host of other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association 5900 River Rd. Suite 301 Columbus, GA 31904 or to St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
