Lylah Gavulic Obituary

Lylah Mary Syx Gavulic, 2, of Midland, GA died Friday, April 3, 2015 at Midtown Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Cascade Hills Church with Dr. Bill Purvis officiating. Interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Cascade Hills Church according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Lylah was born November 1, 2012 in Ft. Benning, GA daughter of Alyssa Alt Gavulic and the late MSgt. Joshua Mark Gavulic. Lylah had an unmistakable love for life that was completely evident to all who knew her. She was born into an amazing family with 5 older siblings who were already in love with her before she even arrived. Being the youngest created a special place for her in the family where each and every milestone was even more appreciated because everyone was aware how quickly she would grow. Ironically, even with so many individuals constantly attentive to her every need, she had a rare independence and maturity about her. She seemed determined to do everything her way and by herself. She embodied both a delicate little princess and a rough and tumble little girl, simultaneously.
She loved walking around in a dress-up dress carrying a purse and wearing click clack shoes with her big sister and best friend Evylie. She was enamored with jewelry and bows for her hair so she could look pretty like her oldest sister and sometimes "second mommy" Rylie. She would even try to wear makeup when she saw her big sister or mommy putting it on but she always used way too much "litstick." Charmingly, she was always ready for you to capture her heartwarming smile as she eagerly said "cheese" for every camera she saw. She often showered her mommy with compliments about looking "bootiful" as she brushed her hair and kissed her gently on the cheek. She held her "babies" closely and made sure that they were all safely snuggled in bed with her as she drifted off to sleep.
But she could also hold her own with her big brothers Tristyn, Austyn, and Suttyn by engaging convincingly in any current superhero or villain game they were pretending to play. She loved to run fast, jump far and swing high. She frequently impressed others with her fearlessness, agility and endurance because she was not what one would expect in such an adorable bright blue-eyed curly blond haired little girl. Some would even call her a spitfire to describe her zest for adventure and her undeniably bold personality. She was simply the perfect mixture of vivacious tenacity and tender sweetness. Although she is now undoubtedly resting in her Daddy's arms who very recently passed just 13 months before her, she will be sorely missed by all who had the honor of knowing her and consequently falling in love with her.
Survivors other than her mother include her 3 brothers, Tristyn, Austyn, and Suttyn; 2 sisters, Evylie and Rylie; paternal grandparents, Robert and Sherri Gavulic; maternal grandmother, Lorna Martell; maternal great-grandparents, Forest and Betty Lou Townsley, and many other family members.
