Michael Titzler Obituary

Michael William "Mike" Titzler, 65, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (formerly of Columbus, GA) passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, September 4, 2016.

A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mike was born in Providence to the late Arthur and Hope Titzler on December 8, 1950. He grew up in Cranston Rhode Island and attended Cranston High School. He graduated from The University of Rhode Island in 1973 with a degree in Industrial Engineering and received his MBA from The University of Connecticut in 1978. He worked with Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut and in 1983 was transferred to their new automated plant in Columbus, GA where he met Cindy. They were married in 1985 and he was a wonderful husband to Cindy and a devoted Dad to Abby and Justin. He spent many years and most weekends (at the expense of his golf game) coaching them in softball, basketball, baseball, football, soccer and also attending all of those long dance recitals. Mike and Cindy moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL in 1999.

Mike was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Karen.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy, his daughter, Abby Bryan and husband Troy (Bethlehem, GA) and son, Justin Titzler (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL). He also leaves behind four granddaughters, Mallory Bryan, Anna Pate, Audrey Bryan, and Emily Brewer that were the light of his life. He is also survived by two loving sisters, Donna Pignolet and husband, Clyde (Somerville, Maine) and Joy Loverro and husband, Dan (Fremont, CA). Mike was a treasure to his mother-in-law, Janice Yarnall (Columbus, GA), sisters-in-law Connie Friou and husband, Jack (Columbus, GA), Cathy Thorpe and husband Mitchell (Columbus, GA) and Cheri Lee and husband, Mark (Kennesaw, GA). He was very proud of his nieces and nephews Aaron Loverro, Rachel Loverro, Zachary Loverro, Carrie Friou Kiser (Matt), Catherine Friou, Jonathan Thorpe, Jessica Thorpe Kidd (Landon), Shannon Lee and Paige Lee.
