Oveal Paden Obituary
Mr. Oveal Paden, Jr. was born August 28, 1938 in Winston County, Mississippi, to the late Oveal and Ruby Lee Paden. He departed this life on Wednesday, April 8, 2015.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 11, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be held Monday at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Oveal confessed Christ an early age uniting with the Church of God in Christ in Mississippi. He received an Associate Degree from Chattahoochee Community College and attended Troy University. He was a United States Veteran retiring from the Army after serving 20 years; he also retired from the Department of Defense. Oveal was an original member and founder of the Controllers Social Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John Wesley Paden and Johnny Early Paden.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Angela J. Paden; sons, Darryl Paden of Atlanta, GA and Antoine Paden (Melany) of Garner, NC; sisters, Ophelia Washington of Greenwood, MS, Christine Dorsey of Columbus, MS, and Katie Rouse of Gurnee, IL; grandchildren, Taylor Paden, Myah Paden, Crystal Paden, and Quentin Paden; three special friends, Fred Benton, George Jenkins, and Willie Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice and the Jenkins Family.
