Richard was born on July 29, 1957, in Frankfurt, Germany to the late Charles Bryant and Martha June Goodwin. Richard grew into a steadfast and honorable man, touching the lives of all who knew him. His early years were marked by his education at Deridder High School in Louisiana, where he established a foundation of knowledge and character that would guide him throughout his life. His commitment to service and country was evident when he joined the U.S. Army, where he served with distinction for over 13 years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. His military career was a testament to his dedication and patriotism, and it shaped the unwavering spirit he carried with him long after his service.

Following his honorable discharge, Richard continued his education, earning an Associate Degree from Philps Jr. College, an accomplishment that spoke to his lifelong love of learning and personal growth. Transitioning to civilian life, he embarked on a career as a truck driver, a role he held until he took early retirement in 1996 due to health concerns.

Retirement allowed Richard to pursue his passions with vigor and joy. He became an active and beloved member of the local Little League community, where he invested his time and energy into mentoring young athletes and fostering a love for the sport. His enthusiasm for baseball extended beyond the diamond, as he was also a huge Atlanta Braves fan, rarely missing a game and always ready to discuss the latest play or strategy.

Christmas was a special time for Richard, whose passion for festive decorations became a cherished tradition in his community. His home was a beacon of holiday spirit, delighting neighbors and passersby with its twinkling lights and joyful displays. This was just one of the many ways Richard brought happiness and warmth to those around him.

Above all, Richard was a family man. His loving wife, Brenda Bryant, was his partner in life's journey, sharing in the joys, challenges, and countless precious moments. Together, they created a legacy of love that extended to their grandchildren, with whom Richard cherished every moment spent. His wisdom and kindness left an indelible impression on his family, guiding them through life's ups and downs.

Richard's legacy is one of love, service, and dedication. He was a man who led by example, showing others the value of hard work, the importance of community, and the joy of living a life filled with purpose.
