Robert “Andy” Earl Andrews, Jr.

Robert “Andy” Earl Andrews, Jr., 80, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Piedmont Midtown Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, March 30, 2024 at St. Peter United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Anthony officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Andy was born October 23, 1943 in Columbus to the late Robert Earl Andrews, Sr. and Mary Luttrell Andrews. Andy was a graduate of Jordan High School Class of 1961 and also attended Columbus Tech. He served in the US Air Force and worked for National Cash Register Company as an IT Tech for 28½ years. He later worked for Muscogee Educators Association and Kinetic Credit Union in the IT department. Andy was a member of St. Peter United Methodist Church where he served as a chairman of the finance committee. He also was a Sunday school teacher for the youth groups and was a volunteer for the CONTACT helpline. Andy was always willing to help people. He loved his family and spending time with them and his friends. Airplanes, flying, and fishing were hobbies that he loved.

Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter, Carrie K. Andrews Farr and sister, Fran Seigfrid.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra Andrews of Columbus, GA, son, Alan L. Andrews of Columbus, GA, granddaughter, Alanna Jade Andrews of Savannah, GA, sisters, Sue Bonhak of Columbus, GA and Barbara Jones Fleharty of Columbus, GA.
