Dean Haney Bell, 91, of Spring Harbor, Columbus died Friday, April 13, 2018 at Spring Harbor.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum at Parkhill Cemetery 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Cindy Garrard officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Bell was born in Birmingham, AL, the daughter of Sanford and Hedy Hanley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Alan Bell, Corwin Allan Bell and her parents. Mrs. Bell had lived in Columbus most of her life, an active member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, the Magnolia Garden Club and Circle 3 of her church. She was a graduate of Minor High School, attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham, AL and worked in advertising at Black's Department store in Birmingham, AL and the Columbus Ledger in Columbus, GA.
She enjoyed painting and the arts, travel, golf, swimming, gardening, bird watching, and hosting dinner parties.
Survivors include her family Corwin Allan Bell's wife Marla of San Diego, CA; Barbara Bell Massey of Oakland, CA; Steve Latham and his wife Peggy of Lilburn, GA; her sister Jackie Bearden and her husband Roger of Birmingham, AL; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
