George Claridy Obituary
George Henry Claridy, III, 71, of Columbus, Georgia died Saturday, August 18, 2018 at his residence.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus.
Mr. Claridy was born February 24, 1947 in Columbus, GA. son of the late George Henry and Havalyn Seay Claridy, Jr. He was the 1965 graduate of Columbus High School and the 1969 graduate of Auburn University. For over 35 years, George was the owner of American Canopy and Window.
George was a family man and loved hunting, fishing and playing golf with his lifelong friends. He was a faithful member of the YMCA and loved to travel. He always had an adventurous spirit and loved giving to the community without acknowledgement.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine S. Claridy of Columbus, Ga., Son, Rusty Jackson (Sherry) of Columbus, Ga., Sister, Jo Sawtelle (Don) of Braselton, Ga., Grandchildren, Hannah and Michael Jackson of Columbus, Ga., Great Grandchild, Cayson Jackson of Columbus, Ga., Niece, Stacy Adams (David) of Braselton, Ga. and Nephew, Trey Sawtelle (Kami) of Columbus, Ga., Great-Nieces and Nephews, Tripp and Ally Faith Adams, of Braselton, Ga. and JayLee, Emily and William Sawtelle of Columbus, Ga.,Brother-in-law, Frank Simons (Kathy) of Valdosta, Ga.
