Geraldine (Gerry) Murdock

Geraldine (Gerry) Murdock, 90, of Columbus, GA passed away peacefully November 5, 2022 at River Towne Center with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 18, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Billy Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Gerry was born July 31, 1932 in Henry County, AL to the late JB Granberry and Margaret Granberry. She graduated from Jordan High School in Columbus, GA. She married Carlton David Murdock, Sr. in 1949 and together they had three children. She worked 30years as a legal secretary and later went to work in the insurance business at Jordan Woolfolk in Columbus, GA.

Her kindness, patience and her love for the Lord were always shining through her beautiful smile. She was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church.

Gerry was an excellent cook and loved to feed everyone. She always planted a gorgeous flower garden in the spring. She loved birds and couldn’t wait to her the birds singing on her porch in the mornings.

She is survived by her son, Carlton David Murdock, Jr. (Julie) of Panama City, FL, daughter, Marlene Murdock Chisholm of Auburndale, FL, grandchildren, Trey Murdock, Mallory Murdock both of Columbus, GA, Matthew Murdock of Panama City, FL, Amanda Norman Murdock of Winter Haven, FL, great-grandchildren, Taylor and Grayson Roberts both of Winter Haven, FL, and her sister, Barbara Kula (Don) of Dubuque, IA.
