Janice Lackey Obituary
Janice Lorraine Lackey, 63, of Columbus, GA entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at home surrounded by her children, after an ongoing battle with cancer.
Born September 10, 1954 in Macon, GA, Jan was the daughter of Sylvia P. Fountain and Albert J. Patterson. Jan received her Registered Nurse degree in the late 1990's from Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City, AL. She worked tirelessly in her profession, providing care to those in need with a sympathetic heart and a gentle hand.
Jan is survived by her mother, Sylvia P. Fountain of Ellerslie, GA, two sisters, Peggy (PJ) Patterson of Ellerslie, GA and Susan Clance of Columbus, GA, a brother, Kirk M. Fountain of Ellerslie, GA, two children, Lori (Ken) Prier of Smiths Station, AL and Brian Willis of Columbus, GA, four grandchildren, Lauren (Austin) Hall of Opelika, AL, Nic and Angelina Nobles of Montgomery, AL, and Isabella Willis of Columbus, GA, two great-grandchildren, Jon Layton and Ella Grace Hall of Opelika, AL and several nieces and nephews.
Jan accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into her heart many years ago and received her Baptism at home before her earthly departure. She loved Pink Floyd, sports cars, all things Native American and spent a lot of her free time enjoying the great outdoors in the beautiful mountains of North Georgia. She loved to fish and spend time with those whom she loved. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother (Nana) and friend who will be deeply missed by all those who love her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society 233 12th St. #710 Columbus, GA 31901 in her name.
