Jeanne Zellefrow Hurley, 59, of Columbus, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center.
A Memorial Service celebrating Ms. Hurley's life will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Morningside Baptist Church 6065 Morningside Drive, Columbus, Ga. 31909. A reception with food and fellowship will follow in the Morningside Fellowship Hall according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus.
Ms. Hurley was born May 27, 1957 in Beaver Falls, PA. to Charles Zellefrow and the late Miriam Bell. She was raised in Tampa, FL. and graduated from Chamberlain High School, and later earned her A.A. degree from Hillsborough Community College. Jeanne worked for the City of Tampa and Hillsborough County Medical Association. Jeanne later resided in Auburn, AL. before moving to Columbus, GA in 1991. Jeanne was a homemaker who dedicated her life to her family, especially her daughter, Amanda. Jeanne was the room mother and team mother for all of Amanda's early school years and sports teams. Amanda, who serves in the U.S. Navy, was the light of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Ferrell and husband Larry of Pensacola, FL; father and step-mother, Charles and Marian Zellefrow of Beaver Falls, PA; former husband, Gordon Hurley of Columbus, GA; uncles, Pat Rairigh and wife Amy of Lutz, FL, David Rairigh and wife Marilyn of Ocala, FL, Ray Rairigh and wife Anita of Land-O-Lakes, FL; cousin, Ryan Rairigh and wife Nikki of Highland Ranch, CO; and a host of nieces and nephews. Jeanne loved her best friend of 50 years, Shirley Tornero of Tampa, FL. Special thanks to caring friend Diane Rawn and husband Bill of Columbus, GA.
