Johnny Crunkleton Obituary
Johnny Anthony Crunkleton, 68, of Columbus, GA died Monday, April 17, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Chaplain Daniel Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Johnny Crunkleton was born December 18, 1948 in Forest Park, GA. He was the owner of Chase Service Company for over 40 years in the metro-Atlanta area. He was a Mason with the Gate City 2 Lodge and a Shriner with the Yaarab Temple, all of Atlanta where he held the position of past-President of the Greeters.
Johnny loved camping, dancing, singing and playing his guitar. Johnny was well-known as his portrayal of Santa Claus. He looked so much like Santa that children and adults, even outside the Christmas holiday, would come up to him and ask him if he was Santa and if they could take their picture with him.
Johnny was preceded in death by his father, John R. Crunkleton. his mother, Christine Crunkleton and a sister, Victoria Pope.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Sandra Borders Crunkleton, his sons, Clint (Jessica) and Chris, grandchildren Sarah Manning, Daniel Manning, Joe Crunketon, Caty Crunkleton and Caylen Crunkleton, brother Larry Storey (Diane) of Macon, sister Barbara Duckworth (of Dahlonega) and numerous nieces and nephews.
