Melvin (Mel) Lamb, 62, died January 21, 2019 peacefully at home. Mel was born April 13, 1957 in Columbus, GA to Joseph and Sara Lamb (Love) and was the older brother to Joey Lamb and Bonnie Eldridge.
Mel was also a beloved Husband, Father, Papa, and Uncle. He married Joy Lamb on June 10, 1978 and had three children, Zach, Taylor and Katelyn. Mel loved to spend time with his family and his grandchildren. His grandchildren, Casey, Cody, Raeleigh, Brayden, Greenlee, Landon, Callie, Piper, and his great- grandson, Barrett, all hold memories in their heart. Mel also leaves behind a brother in laws, sister in laws, nieces and nephews.
Mel never met a stranger. He loved to read books, had stories to tell, and always had an answer for every question asked ... and even those not asked. He served his community as a MRI technologist and a brother in his church, Geneva Baptist Church. Mel was a cowboy at heart. He loved horses, rodeos and Texas. Saddle up Mel, and ride free through heaven's gates. This world is a better place because of Mel and will forever be in our hearts.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 and the celebration of Mel's life will be held Friday, January 24, 2020 at 4:00 PM ET.
