Retha Reid Obituary

Retha Brannon Reid, also known as Nina, 71, of Cataula, GA went to be with The Lord Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Magnolia Manor.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 PM EST Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Freedom Church 906 1st St. Lanett, AL 36863 with Rev. Lori Jennings officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Retha (Nina) was born July 7, 1947 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Idas Brannon and Addie Davis Brannon. Retha's (Nina's) love for the Lord brought joy to many in both conversation and service. She loved attending church and worshipping The Lord with her church family. Her most favorite pastime was spending time with her grandkids and other children in the family. She was selfless, compassionate, and giving of herself to anyone in need. She also enjoyed crafting, cooking, and baking, her pound cake and carrot cake was known to be THE BEST, as well as her lemonade which brought her the title of "The Lemonade Lady". Being a wife, mother, and grandmother (Nina) was her greatest accomplishments.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Cecil Brannon.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Ronald C. Reid (Pop) of Cataula, GA, children, Chris Reid of Cataula, GA, LaRone (Lala) Reid and her partner Angel Jennings of Ten Mile, TN, and Rachel and husband Wallace, grandkids, Jorden, Cody and Leyla McKinney, of Gainesville, GA brother, Bobby and wife Edi Brannon of El Paso, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was passionate about all of her family both given and chosen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society 233 12th St. #710 Columbus, GA 31901 or to Columbus Hospice House 7020 Moon Rd. Columbus, GA 31909.
