Sfc (Ret) Jesse Lee Martin

SFC (RET) Jesse Lee Martin, 75, of Columbus, GA passed away January 9, 2022 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown. A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, January 14, 2022 at North Highland Church with Pastor Dennis Lacy officiating. Interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery following the service.

Jesse was born August 7, 1946 in Mississippi to the late Lena Martin Funches. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and retired from the Army after 23 years of service as Sergeant First Class.  He loved Jesus, gardening, cowboy movies, and living a simple life. Jesse was also a member of North Highland Church.

Other than his mother, he is preceded in death by his eldest brother, Johnny Martin and several other family members.

Survivors include his wife of 53 and a half years, Minnie Martin of Columbus, GA; brother, Robert Martin of Texas; and numerous other family members.
