SSG (Ret.) Ruben Rodriguez, 62, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Dr. Jose Resto officiating. A private family interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.
SSG (Ret.) Rodriguez was born September 11, 1954 in Ponce, Puerto Rico son of the late Jose Juan Rodriguez and Olga Ortiz Santiago. Ruben gave our nation 20 wonderful years of service and retired as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. Additionally, he worked 10 years for the Civil Service and contracting overseas until his health did not permit.
Ruben loved spending time with his family, and always wore a smile on his face. He was a loving and caring person, devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. To know him was to love him.
Survivors include his loving wife, Rosa Rodriguez Sanjur of Columbus, GA, daughter, Valerie Hernandez of Okinawa, Japan, son, Ruben A. Rodriguez of Columbus, GA, granddaughters Ariellah and Adrianna Meeks, of Okinawa, Japan, grandsons Miguel and Jacob Hernandez of Okinawa Japan, Son in Law Miguel Hernandez III of Okinawa, Japan and many brothers and sisters, host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
