Tommy Wade Obituary

​William Franklin "Tommy" Wade, 60, of Columbus, Ga went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 after a brief illness/hospital stay.
Funeral services with full Military Honors will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 3, 2019 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. David Carter officiating. A private interment will be held in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
​Tommy was born February 22, 1959 in Arlington, Va son of the late Joanne Bowden McClellan Wade and William Alvin Wade. He proudly served in the United States Army and retired from the United States Army reserves. He was a graduate of Columbus High School and the 1981 graduate of Presbyterian College with a degree in Business Administration. He was the Director of Logistics at Snyders of Hanover from 1998-2014. Tommy was a founding investor in Growing Room Child Development Centers. He assisted with the initial business plan, preparation of the startup equipment and served on its Board of Directors. He was a Free Mason with Midland Lodge #144 and a member of Al Sihah Shrine Center and a member of the Columbus-Ft. Benning Shrine Club.
​Tommy was a loving husband and father, friend, mentor, teacher and brother to many. He was also a lover of life.
​Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Smith Wade of Columbus, Ga, his sons Corbin Wade of Hanover, Pa and Dalton Wade of Aurora, Co. His sister, Sheree W. Mitchell ( Pat Mitchell) of Fortson, Ga, his nephew Brad Haines (Brittany Haines) of Fortson, Ga, great nephews Josh Haines and Will Haines of Fortson, Ga, great niece, Maddie Haines of Fortson, Ga, father-in-law Ronald Smith of Knoxville, Ga, brothers and sister-in-laws, Rhonda Harris ( Frank Harris) of Musella, Ga, Deb Rajagopal of Richmond, Va, Alton Smith (Ann Smith) of Musella, Ga, Chris Smith (Tina Smith) of Knoxville, Ga and numerous nephews and nieces-in-laws.
​Flowers will be accepted, but those desiring may make memorial donations to the following: Shiners Hospital for Children, the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Legion.
