Walter Mann Teel, 79, of Columbus, GA died Friday December 27, 2019 at his son's home in Talbotton, GA.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday December 30, 2019 at the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA, with Pastor Les Teel officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00 PM CST at Fairview Cemetery, 723 N Randolph Ave, Eufaula, AL 36027. Visitation will held 4:00-6:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Teel was born March 24, 1940 in Troy, AL to the late Joseph Jackson Teel and Mattie Mae Mullis Teel. He was a cabinet maker with Columbus Cabinet Company. He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Earline Hunt Teel. Mr. Teel was a history buff and enjoyed going to the oldest section of the cemeteries and looking at the oldest graves. He liked to take his metal detector down the river walk and finding assorted buried treasures. Walter Teel enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and cabinetry and even was a National Skeet Shooting champion.
Survivors include his sons, Les Teel (Dina), Mike Teel, Timothy Teel, and Harold Teel (Beverly), his brothers and sisters, Joel Teel, Emily Kent, Sylvia Curtis, and John Teel, grandchildren, Steven Teel, Chris Teel, David Teel, Lacy Teel, Angelina Johnson, Chelsea Teel, Genevieve Teel Daniel Teel, Amber Teel (Peyton), Trevar Goss, Samantha Teel, Savannah Teel, Nikki Nichols, Stephanie Frazier, and Chris Achtziger, and great grandchildren, Riley Teel, Delilah Teel, Ava Goss, Dylan Achtziger, Alyssa Achtziger, Cayllie Achtziger, Emma Achtziger, Makayla Allen, Haylee Altis, David Nichols, Sophia Nichols, Brody Frazier, and Sadie Frazier.
