Aida M. Pierce, 83, Columbus, GA, died Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 14, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Dr. Kevin Calhoun officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00-3:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pierce was born September 28, 1930 in Panama, daughter of the late Clemente S. Espino and Delphina Cedano Espino. She retired from the Civil Service at Ft. Benning and was a member at Wynnbrook Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond R. Pierce and daughter, Wanda Gail Losie.
Survivors include her two daughters, Deyka Smith (David) of Midland, GA and Wava Cullen-Friedman (Bruce) of Boca Raton, FL; 5 grandchildren, Deyka Smith of Columbus, GA, Shanna Cotton of Flowering Branch, GA, Haleigh Cawood of Birmingham, AL, Ashley Cullen of Boca Raton, FL, and Adam Cullen of Carlsbad, CA; great-grandchildren, Taylor Smith, Kendall Smith, Tessa Cotton, Kaden Cawood, and Alexi Cawood.
Flowers will be accepted, but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Wynnbrook Baptist Church, 500 River Knoll Way, Columbus, GA 31904 or Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, GA 31909.
