Alda Lucia Baron Ellis 58, of Columbus died Sunday, December 22, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Anne's Catholic Church with Rev. Father Jeremiah McCarthy officiating. Entombment will be held in the Chapel of Pines Mausoleum. A Rosary will be held 6:00 P.M. Thursday, December 26, 2013 followed by a visitation and reception at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus.
Mrs. Ellis was born June 25, 1955 in Narvacan, Iloco Sur, Philippines daughter of Josefina Reintegrado Baron-Martin of Madison, Al., and the late Dr. Jose Baron. She retired after 23 years as a Respiratory Therapist with Columbus Regional now Midtown Medical Center.
Mrs. Ellis was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Cursillo Religious Organization, Bayanihan and FAA both of Columbus, Ga. She studied at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines and continued her medical studies at Cebu Doctors College of Medicine in Cebu, Philippines.
Survivors other than her mother Josefina Reintegrado Baron-Martin and husband Tom Martin of Madison, Al. include her husband Emory "Danny" Ellis; one daughter; Lauren C. Ellis, one son; Philip B. Ellis all of Columbus, Ga., one brother; Dr. Carlos Baron and wife Amy Baron of Columbus, Ga., nephews; C.J. Baron, Joseph G. Baron. Other family members include Dr. Jocelyn Galang-Ray of Fortson, Ga., Amy Lee Tabligan and husband Deo Tabligan, Alvin Gonzales and Anna Marie Gonzales.
