Aleta Lynn Cochrane Henderson, 69, of Phenix City, AL, died Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Gentiva Hospice.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Dr. Bill LaHouse officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Henderson was born September 13, 1947 in Boone, North Carolina, daughter of the late Herbert Ford Cochrane and Effie Miller Cochrane. She began her career as a teacher, later shifting careers to Nursing where she excelled. Mrs. Henderson was honored as Outstanding Chief Nursing Officer for HCA and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She enjoyed mixed media art and scrapbooking, gardening and traveling.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Randy Hester.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Henderson of Phenix City, AL; 2 step-daughters, Elizabeth Henderson and Katherine Bartlett (John) all of Oregon; 2 sisters, Barbara Hester and Anne Hunsucker (Kenneth) all of North Carolina; nephews, Michael Hester and Rusell Hunsucker of North Carolina; 2 nieces, Debra Hester of North Carolina and Karen Lambka of South Carolina, and several great nieces and nephews and friends.
