Anita was born October 10, 1953, in Ocilla, GA, daughter of the late Gabriel Ring and Myrtice Kittle Ring. Nita was truly one of the kindest souls you could ever meet and had the brightest blue eyes that seemed to radiate that kindness. She loved to shop, stay up late and sleep in, and travel – little joys that made her who she was. She was the type of person that would give you the shirt off her back without hesitation.

Even though her last few years were difficult, spent in and out of assisted living, rehab facilities and hospitals, everyone she encountered said the same thing: she was unfailingly kind. Generosity and Kindness weren’t just practiced, they were woven into her every fiber. Even in her most difficult moments, her gentle spirit shone through. She will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered for the goodness she brought into the world.

Other than her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Matthews.

Survivors include her children, Jerry Wayne Corbitt Jr. (Vanessa) of Salem, AL, Brian Glenn Corbitt (Laura) of Phenix City, AL, Shelby Nichole “Nikki” Parish of Eastman, GA; grandchildren, Kristen Lee Hall (Jacob) of Beauregard, AL, Taylor Kay Cook (Dalton) of Salem, AL, Lauren Elizabeth Corbitt of Daytona Beach, FL, MaKayla Brooke Corbitt of Phenix City, AL, Haley Brooke Stafford of Phenix City, AL, Gabriel “Gabe” Corbitt of Phenix City, AL, Henry Ellis Corbitt of Phenix City, AL; great grandchildren, Karslee Noelle Hall, Kadon Ryder Hall, Kohen Brantley Hall, and Dawson Cook; siblings, Sharon Clark of Ellerslie, GA, Ann Thombley (Joe) of Auburn, AL; aunt, Florence Latham of Fitzgerald, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
