Anne Coulter Griggs

Mrs. Anne Coulter Griggs, 97, of Columbus, GA went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family January 3, 2026.

Anne was born July 29, 1928, in Muscogee County, GA to the late Harry Leonard Coulter and Alice Lockwood Coulter.

Survivors include two daughters, Cecilia Griggs Phillips (Joe) and Julie Griggs Durham; seven grandchildren, Joseph Phillips (Chelsi), Lauren Phillips Sullivan (Barrett), Kennon Phillips (Brookelyn), Madeline Phillips, Jordan Durham Goins (Andrew), Graham Durham (Lyndsey), and Anna Durham; seven great-grandchildren, Zeke Phillips, Maggie Phillips, Riley Phillips, Lennon Phillips, Griffin Durham, Westley Goins, and Danielle Goins.

In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jimmy” Griggs, sisters, Harriet "Sue" Coulter Smith, Alice Coulter Gray, and her son-in-law, Danny Durham.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Evangel Church with Rev. Joe Phillips and Rev. Paul Thomas officiating. A private burial will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, January 5, 2026, from 5-7 PM at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA. 31907.
