Ret. Major Arne N. Moi, Jr., 78, of Phenix City, AL, died Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Jack Hughston Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Beallwood Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Duncan Officiating. Interment will be held at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Ret. Major Moi was born April 21, 1939 in New York City, NY, son of the late Arne N. Moi, Sr. and Anna Moi. He retired from the United States Army receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal (2 Oak Leaf Cluster), Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Silver Star & 1 Bronze Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/ Palm (Unit), 4 Overseas Service Bars as well as numerous other awards. He was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Catherine Moi.
Survivors include his two daughters, Debra Moi Obert (Tony) of Phenix City, AL and Christine Duke( Jerry) of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Anna Catherine Cochran of Columbus, GA, Abigail Newman Cochran Layfield (Calvin) of Columbus, GA and Amanda Mae Christine Cochran Harsey (Dustin) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and great-grandchildren, Anslie Catherine Gash and Olive Moi Layfield.
In leu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beallwood Baptist Church, 4650 Veterans Pkwy Columbus, GA 31904.
