Chief (Ret.) Arnold E. Lamb, Jr. 69 yrs old, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 3, 2025 surrounded by his family in Fayetteville, GA.
A Memorial service will be held 3:00pm Sunday, October 19, 2025, with Mr. Kevin Shirley officiating at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at the funeral home.
Arnie was born on May 4, 1956 in Columbus, GA to Arnold and Alice Railey Lamb. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1975 where he began his Military career and Education in Officer Leadership school, Officer Academy and Officer NCO Academy school. He married his best friend and the love of his life, Jenny in 1980.
After retiring from the Military in 2005, he began teaching at Callaway High School with Troup County Schools as an AF JROTC Instructor (2006-2021). He was named Teacher of the Year for the 2011-2012 school year for his school. He was loved by many students & faculty and was very active with his cadets in teaching them how to grow professionally and in their personal lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roman and Ilse Wojciechowski, all of Columbus, GA, who he respected and loved dearly.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jenny Lamb; Two daughters, Jennifer Huff of Tyrone, GA and Cindy Huff Dawson (Andy) of Smiths, AL; Two granddaughters, Adyson Huff of Tyrone, GA and Jenna Dawson Bryan (Christian) and great grandson, Cutler Dawson Bryan of Smiths, AL.
His extended family includes: brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Kathy Gregory of Sharpsburg, GA; their children Bradford Gregory, Steven Gregory and Kim White (Matt); brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Lou Ann Wojciechowski of Midland, GA; their children, Christopher Wojciechowski (Gari-Leigh) and Kristen Jankiewicz (Josh); brother and sister-in-law, James and Sandra Wojciechowski of Columbus, GA; their children, Adam Blackwell and Amanda Gallo (Andrew); and brother-in-law, the late John Wojciechowski; his children, Cody Wojciechowski (Jessica), Dana Card and Megan Wojciechowski.
Also many great nieces and nephews that Arnie loved and found lots of joy being with.
Also, Arnie was an avid Alabama “Roll Tide” football fan and enjoyed cheering the team on with family. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling on cruise ships, trips to the North Ga mountains with his wife. Being with his two granddaughters and family was always a fun, joyous time for him.
In the Military, Arnie became a helicopter Flight Instructor and Flight Examiner, flying aircrafts HH -3 Jolly Green Giant, the MH-60G Pave Hawk, Huey, Night Hawk and the Black Hawk. All flown as a Flight Engineer in Combat Rescue, Special Operations and Classified Unit Missions. He completed the three tier, Professional Military Academies and served in Veteran of Foreign Wars, the invasion of Panama and in Desert Shield in Saudi Arabia.
