Barbel "Bobbie" Jean Binns, cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on November 11, 2025, in LaGrange, Georgia, at the age of 78. Born on July 28, 1947, in Berlin, Germany, Bobbie brought an incredible warmth and strength into the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Bobbie's career was marked by her devotion to healing and nurturing. She first ventured into the world of work in the late 1970s at Bi-City Paint and Decorating, but her true calling emerged when she received her Associate’s Degree in Nursing. With steadfast determination, she began her nursing career at St. Francis Hospital and later devoted over twenty years to the Emergency Room at West Georgia Medical Center, where she continued to touch countless lives. Ultimately, her nurturing spirit led her to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where her compassion and expertise provided hope and care to the tiniest patients.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Bobbie had an amazing talent for making those around her feel loved and valued. She was a woman of strong heart, whose honest opinions were always shared from a place of deep affection. A constant presence in her home was her never ending love for crafting, where she turned even the most unforeseen items into beautiful creations—like her first pacemaker, which she artistically decorated and hung on the Christmas tree.

Bobbie’s nurturing nature extended beyond her family to her active community involvement. She worked tirelessly with Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network, Animal Ark Rescue, and Paws Humane Society, showing great dedication in rescuing newborn kittens and puppies. She also found joy in rehabilitating wildlife, caring for a range of animals, including raccoons, birds, squirrels, and beavers.

Bobbie's home was often filled with the delightful scent of fresh bread baking, a testament to her loving nature. She ensured that every guest left with a warm loaf, embodying her desire to care for and nurture others through her culinary creations. She could always be found sitting next to her beloved husband Tim in their designated chairs. This embodied their never ending love and affection for one another. Her hobbies of sewing and knitting further showcased her skills and love for crafting, constantly finding ways to infuse joy into the lives of her family and friends.

Her family, who adored her deeply, include her loving husband, Timothy Binns; her son, Andrew Binns; her daughter-in-law, Patti Binns; and her beloved granddaughter, Gracie Binns. She also leaves behind dear friends who experienced the warmth of her spirit, including Rita Mead and Starla Pyburn.

Though Bobbie has reunited with those who have passed before her, including her father, Billy Howard, mother, Gisela “Sheila” Howard, son, Christopher Binns, daughter-in-law, Kerry Binns, as well as her close friends CJ Harn and Vivian Knox, her legacy of love, strength, and compassion will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.

As we remember Barbel "Bobbie" Jean Binns, we celebrate a life devoted to nurturing others, a heart filled with kindness, and a spirit that left an unforgettable mark on all of us. She will be sorely missed but always remembered with immense love.
