Retired MSgt. Bernard William LaMountain, Sr. of Columbus, Georgia died Saturday, July 25, 2026 at his residence.

Bernard was born June 20, 1945 in Ticonderoga, NY son of the late William David LaMountain and Evelyn Clark LaMountain.

Bernard retired after20 years of service with the US Army, later working with the State of Alabama, State of Georgia and U-Haul.

Military graveside service will be held 10 :00 AM Monday, August 10, 2026 at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery. A funeral procession will leave McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 at 9:30 AM to go to the cemetery.

Bernard is survived by his wife of 48 years, Monika Wahl LaMountain of Columbus, GA. son, Bernard William LaMountain, Jr. (Susan), sisters, Janet Holland (Frank), Nancy Miller (Donald), brother Gary LaMountain (Diana), numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
