In loving memory of Bertha, who peacefully departed this world on October 13, 2026, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her cherished family. Born on November 1, 1946, in Baltimore, MD, Bertha was a beacon of love, faith, and warmth to all who knew her. She was the beloved daughter of the late Eugene and Elizabeth and shared her early years with her siblings Mary, Eugene Jr., James, Lucile, Elizabeth, and Brenda.

Bertha was a woman of extraordinary kindness and unwavering faith. Her journey was one that touched and inspired many, especially through her dedication to both her career and her ministry. She spent her early professional years nurturing young minds as a daycare provider, where her warmth and compassion left an indelible mark on countless children. Later, Bertha felt a divine calling that led her to devote herself fully to ministry within the AME church. Her passion for sharing the love of the Lord was unmatched, and she spent many years spreading His word and touching the hearts of her congregation until her retirement.

Her family was her greatest joy, and her love for them knew no bounds. Bertha is survived by her devoted husband, Benjamin Morrison, who stood by her side through all of life’s seasons. Her legacy lives on through her children, Lucius Washington, Carletta Walker, and Terrell Ince, who each carry forward her spirit of love and faith. Bertha was the proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of family and friends each of whom she adored and who brought immeasurable joy to her life.

Bertha is reunited in heaven with her late parents, Eugene and Elizabeth, her siblings Mary, Eugene Jr., and James, and her beloved sons, Carl Jr. and Vincent. Though their loss is deeply felt, her family takes solace in knowing she is at peace with the Lord.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and it was her soul’s desire for everyone in her life to know the love and grace of the Lord. Bertha’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and a deep passion for her faith. Her memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

Bertha’s light will forever shine in the hearts of her loved ones, and her spirit will continue to guide them. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
