Betty McDaniel, born on April 22, 1938, in Langdale, Alabama, peacefully departed this life surrounded by her loving family on May 30, 2025, in Columbus, Georgia. She leaves behind a legacy filled with kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.

A funeral service to honor Betty's life will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private burial will be held at Ft. Benning Cemetery.

A devoted wife and selfless mother, Betty was known for her warm presence and infectious giggle that could light up any room. She dedicated herself to her family, proudly embracing the roles of grandmother and great-grandmother, nurturing life's sweetest moments with her loved ones. Her five daughters, Rhonda McDaniel (Mark Hatch), Janet Jernigan, Melinda McDaniel (Randall Byrne), Tina McDaniel, and Rita Schurg, were not only her children but also her cherished companions in life.

Betty's devotion extended beyond her immediate family, as she played an active role in her community and served her home churches throughout her life as a military wife. Her commitment to her faith found a home at Central Baptist Church of Columbus, Georgia, where she embraced fellowship and service.

Her family tree flourished with numerous grandchildren, including Candace McDaniel (Evan Soukas), Brad McDaniel (Crystal), Lee Jernigan, Autumn Atchley (Leland), and Frank Schurg, as well as great-grandchildren Alexandria Zarudenec, Camryn McDaniel, Cadyn McDaniel, and Kason Atchley. Each generation carries forward her spirit of love and warmth.

Betty is also remembered fondly by her extended family, including her sister-in-law Margaret Webb, brother-in-law Barry McDaniel (Debbie), sister-in-law Brenda Ladd, and many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins who were touched by her kindness.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Romie V. McDaniel, whose memory she cherished throughout her life, as well as her great-grandson, Korbin Atchley. She was also preceded by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James E. Webb (Ada), and three brothers, Roger Webb, Lamar Webb, Darryl Webb, and her sister Christine Horton.

Betty McDaniel will be remembered for her sweet spirit, her servant's heart, and the love she imparted on those around her. Her life was a testament to faithfulness and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
