Billie Lynn G. Whealton, 70, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, October 25, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 29, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Watson McKemie officiating. A private interment will be held at Riverdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Whealton was born on June 30, 1942 to William P. and Helen Willis Gates. She retired after 29 years in Scheduling for the Civil Service and was a member of Rosehill Baptist Church. She volunteered with Boy Scouts and was a member of the 4-H and Girls Scouts. She was a 1960 graduate of Columbus High School. She graduated with honors and as a member of the National Honor Society.
