Billy Bryan "Bill" Cox, 91, of Columbus, GA died Monday, May 8, 2017 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Cox was born December 27, 1925 in Geneva County, AL son of the late Lehman Dewitt Cox and Annie Mae Cotton Cox. He retired after 30 years as the VP of Personnel at Blue Cross Blue Shield and later worked for Lummis Industries. Mr. Cox was a member of Northside Baptist Church, the Kiwanis Club, and the American Association of Personnel Administration.
He loved quail hunting, fishing, wood working, and building especially building his own fly fish rods to fish. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Beverly Ann Hobby Cox of Columbus, GA, daughters, Sharleen Smith (Ray) of Fortson, GA and Kim Hightower of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Terry Smith (Sherri), Kristin Wolfenberger (Joseph) and Brittney Hightower, and great-grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Madison Smith and Chloe Wolfenberger.
