Bobby Ray Owens, 83, of Phenix City, AL died Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Northside Baptist Church 959 54th St. Columbus, GA 31904 with Rev. Jerry Speer officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Visitation will follow the service in the Sanctuary.
Mr. Owens was born July 3, 1933 in Dothan, AL son of the late Edgar and Claudia Hodges Owens. He was the Minister of Music at First Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL and ministered in nursing homes. He was an avid gardener and golfer. He was a Civitan and loved music.
Survivors include his loving wife, Annette Bryans Owens of Phenix City, AL, children, Deborah Lynn Owens of St. Louis, MO, Kenneth Eric Owens (Connie) of Smiths Station, AL, Jason Keith Owens (Camille) of Dothan, AL, Rhonda Hattaway (Terry) of Columbus, GA, Sharon Dilleshaw of Greenville, GA and Kelly Iversen (John) of Smiths Station, AL, 12 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Damascus Way 1200 11th Ave. Columbus, GA 31906.
