Bonnie J. Green passed away on Tuesday November 3rd, 2026 in Columbus, GA. She was born July 2nd, 1964 in Albany, GA and leaves a lasting impression of love, devotion, and compassion.

Bonnie was a graduate of Jordan High School and a 1985 graduate of Columbus College. She served many roles across the healthcare and childcare fields, reflecting her passions. One of her favorite professional roles was as a preschool teacher in Columbus, GA, caring for and educating many precious children.

Bonnie and her husband Gary wove a legacy of love spanning over 40 years. She was a loving and devoted wife, and a joyful mother and homeschool teacher to her daughter, Rachel. Bonnie found incredible joy in the world around her, particularly outdoors. She often noticed small details that otherwise would go overlooked and enjoyed photography to capture these small glimmers of beauty. She treasured spending time with her plants, as well as in the kitchen cooking and learning. She loved to learn and this reflected in her other passions of reading and collecting books.

She is survived by her husband Gary Green, her daughter Rachel Bigbie and Rachel’s husband Patrick, and her brother Larry Peterson and Larry’s wife Betsy. They as well as many extended family and close friends remember her as a kind and tender spirit with a big and loving heart.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her mother Melba Peterson, her father, Leeman Keith Peterson, and her brother Dennis Peterson and his wife Jill.

The family will celebrate Bonnie’s life at their home at a later date.
