Carol L. Frederick, 97, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Rivertown Center.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907, with Pastor Paul Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.
Mrs. Frederick was born December 20, 1919 in Amarillo, TX to the late Carroll Wood and Winnie Powellson Hansberger. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Parrish, and later her second husband, William Overton Frederick; a daughter Lynette Neal.
Carol was a member of Evangel Temple and was very active in the church choir, women's ministry, and other church ministries. She and Cecil opened the first bible store here in Columbus in the 1950s. Carol worked as a clerk for the Muscogee County Tax assessor for many years before retiring. She was a great wife, mom, grandmother, and friend. All the kids called her MEMAW. Carol was a great woman of God who not only talked the talk, but walked the walk. We will miss all the wonderful meals and have no doubt she she will be the best cook in Heaven. Mom you will be missed dearly. Rest in Peace. All our love forever.
Survivors include her children, Gary Parrish (Patti) of Columbus, GA, Mike Frederick (Lynn) of Mobile, AL, Pat Frederick (Joan) of Chestertown, NY; grandchildren, Shane Parrish (Kristy) of Phenix City, AL, Kristi Parrish of Columbus, GA, Natasha Taylor of Mobile, AL, Chasity Thornton of Orange Beach, AL, TJ Frederick of Mobile, AL, Kim and Kevin Neal both of Youngstown, OH; and 11 great grandchildren.
