Caroline Kennedy Standridge, born on October 15, 1958, in San Francisco, California, passed away on September 6, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital after a courageous battle with dementia. Caroline devoted much of her professional life to working as a bus monitor for the Muscogee County School District, where she supported special needs children. Her caring nature and commitment to helping others were evident in every facet of her life. Caroline was also deeply passionate about childhood education, which culminated in her proudest accomplishment: earning her associate degree in child care and opening her own daycare. This endeavor not only showcased her skills but also her profound love for children, a love that remained a guiding force throughout her life.
Family and friends will always cherish the memories of Caroline's vibrant spirit and zest for life. She celebrated her birthday with unrivaled joy, transforming the month of October into a festival of her own, extending the celebrations from the 1st through to Halloween, which she famously declared “her day, her month, her year.” Caroline had a penchant for unexpected little trips, which created the most memorable experiences for those who shared them with her. Christmas held a special place in her heart, as she found immense joy in seeing the festive decorations that lit up the season.
A lover of literature and creativity, Caroline took pride in her collection of rare books and enjoyed engaging in arts and crafts. She particularly loved making Christmas ornaments, merging her artistic talents with the joy of the holiday season.
Caroline is survived by her beloved wife, Carla L. Standridge; and ex- husband Jon Sr. her children, Jon Jr., Jennifer, Jacqueline, and June Marie; her four cherished grandchildren; and her two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, John F. Kennedy Jr. and Joseph W. Kennedy, along with their respective spouses, Barbara and Kirsten. Her love and influence will continue to resonate through her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, John F. Kennedy Sr. and Yoneko Kennedy, whose legacy of love and support carried forward in Caroline’s life.
Caroline Kennedy Standridge will be remembered as a loving, caring individual, whose compassion knew no bounds, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her.
