Carolyn Noell

Carolyn Crain Noell, 69, of Columbus, GA passed away Friday, January 9, 2026 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown. 

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 15, 2026 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Chris Hess officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Carolyn was born December 11, 1956, daughter of the late Leonard David Crain and Gwendolyn Garrett Crain. Carolyn’s greatest joy was her family. In the later years of her life, she lovingly cared for her mother, forming a bond that grew into a deep friendship built on love, devotion, and mutual respect. She adored her grandchildren and was immensely proud of each one, taking every opportunity to celebrate their lives and milestones. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she faced every season with quiet strength, often saying, “God’s got me,” a reflection of the trust that guided her heart.

Other than her father, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Harry Crain, Larry Crain, Theresa Starns, and Ricky Crain.

Survivors include her daughter, Kimberly Walton (Kevin) of Lafayette, AL; son, Darren Hix (Elizabeth Peters) of Jasper, AL; mother, Gwendolyn Garrett Crain of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Wilson Hix, Connor Hix, Web Hix, Kaylee Walton Freeman (Daniel), Noah Walton, Ava Walton, Levi Walton; great-grandchild, Reed Freeman; siblings, Linda Riley (Don) of Phenix City, AL, Leonard Crain (Brenda) of Columbus, GA, Mike Crain (Judy) of Covington, GA, Gwen Pigg (Ronny) of Columbus, GA, Dan Crain (Janice) of Columbus, GA.
