Cassie Myers Renfrow, 38, of Columbus, GA passed away Friday, September 4, 2026, at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. A visitation will be held 9:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday, September 12, 2026, at McMullen Funeral Home, followed by a private funeral service.

Cassie was born July 24, 1988, in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Jerry Glenn Myers and Ann Worsham Myers. Cassie graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in biology and continued her education at Columbus State University where she received her Master of Science in Environmental Science. She then received her Specialist of Education from the University of West Georgia.

While serving as the Executive Director of Columbus River Warden, Cassie enrolled at Columbus State University. It was there that she recognized her passion for education while acting as an adjunct lecturer and decided to pass on her love of learning first as a teacher at Shaw High School and then at Northside High School in Columbus. The love for her students and her desire to help them learn and understand was a hallmark of her teaching style.

Cassie was a lifelong learner and fancied herself a trivia buff. She had the ability to light up a room the moment she walked in and just made you want to be her friend with her infectious laugh and a sense of humor that was second to none. She loved Alabama football and could be found deeply involved in games and cheering on her team on SEC Saturdays. Cassie had the rare quality of being able to make you feel like you were the only person in the room when spending time with her and will be deeply missed by anyone who had the distinct pleasure of calling her a friend.

Other than her father, Cassie is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Willie Worsham, Sr. and Doris Worsham; her paternal grandparents, Hoyt and Robbie Myers.

Survivors include her mother, Ann Myers (Michael Bishop) of Columbus, GA; brother, Josh Myers (Lindsay) of Phenix City, AL; stepsons, Luke Renfrow of Fortson, GA, Nate Renfrow of Fortson, GA; niece, Nevill Myers of Phenix City, AL; nephew, Maddux Myers of Phenix City, AL; her significant other, Jack Tinkler IV of Columbus, GA; uncle, Willie Worsham (Melissa) of Ozark, AL; and her aunt, Tammie Thompson (Terrance) of Plant City, FL.
