Charles Douglas Franks, 63, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Columbus Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Epworth United Methodist Church 2400 Devonshire Dr. Columbus, GA 31904 with Rev. Tony Crosby and Pastor Gary Knowles officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory.
Mr. Franks was born February 18, 1956 in Benton, TN son of the late Claude Franks and Eunice McDonald Franks. He was an employee at M&M Mars for 23 years and was also a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. He loved bass fishing, baseball, and his family.
Survivors include: his loving wife of 21 years, Vonna Marchbanks Franks of Columbus, GA; mother-in-law, Marie Marchbanks; daughters, Amber McLamb (Chad) of Clayton, NC and Allison Franks (Julie Oldfield) of Sydney, Australia; son, Robert Matthews (Carolyn) of Columbus, GA; sister, Gloria Jean Norman (Ralph) of Knoxville, TN; and 4 grandchildren: Will Matthews and Avery, Ella, and Banks McLamb.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be sent to the American Heart Association.
