Charles William Sewell, 85, of West Point, GA died Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Savannah Grand in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Randy Puckett officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Sewell was born November 6, 1933 in Columbus, GA son of the late Johnny Q. Sewell and Lillie Wiggins Sewell. He was the owner and operator of C&J Garage for over 50 years and was a member of St. Peter United Methodist Church. He loved cars, going to work and loved going to the flea market.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Marie Caldwell Sewell, brother, John Sewell and his animal companion, Brownie.
Survivors include his daughters, Denice Smith (Mark) and Cindy Mercer (Mike) all of West Point, GA, sons, Ken Sewell (Tenley) of West Point, GA and Randy Sewell (Carol) of Columbus, GA, sister, Juelleen Statham (Paul) of Atlanta, GA, sister-in-law, Thelma Sewell of Eupora, MS, 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
