Charles “Rick” Richard Wimberly, 68, of Columbus, GA passed away Friday, August 22, 2025 at his residence. A funeral service will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Pierce Chapel Global Methodist Church with Reverend Jerry Akin officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment will be held following the service at Pierce Chapel Cemetery.

Rick was born May 11, 1957 in Columbus, GA son of the late Charles Norman Wimberly and Carol McDaniel Wimberly. Rick grew up in Talbotton, Georgia with his parents and sister, Norma. He graduated from Manchester High School in 1975 then attended Columbus College.

Rick enjoyed coaching his sons in little league baseball at Northern Little League and Bull Creek Babe Ruth. He is still called "Coach Rick" by many of the young men he coached over the years. He enjoyed watching and supporting his sons play high school baseball and adult league softball as well. He was a huge Atlanta Braves fan and attended many games. He also loved watching the Georgia Bulldogs play every fall.

Rick and Teresa enjoyed traveling especially to vacation at the beach and the Smokey Mountain area.

Rick was active in the church - serving on many committees over the years and served on a disaster relief team that helps clean up areas devastated by storms. He enjoyed serving others whenever possible.

He owned and operated his own vending company serving the local area for 30 years.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Teresa Hollis Wimberly; sons, Steven Richard Wimberly (Marianne) of Columbus, GA, Michael Brandon Wimberly (Karen) of Columbus, GA, Robert Charles Wimberly (Judy) of Columbus, GA; sister, Norma Parker Busby of Wetumpka, AL.
