Rosado (Smith)
Oct 1, 1945 — Jul 30, 2026
Cusseta
Charlotte A. Rosado, lovingly known as “Charlie,” passed away peacefully from natural causes on July 30, 2026, in Cusseta, Georgia, at the age of 80. She was born Charlotte A. Smith on October 1, 1945, in Knoxville, Tennessee, and throughout her life brought warmth, resilience, and kindness to those fortunate enough to know her.
Charlotte’s journey was marked by determination and a steadfast love for her family and community. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend—her nurturing spirit and unwavering support earned her the admiration of all whose lives she touched. Charlotte’s life was filled with both joy and challenge, but her strength and self-sufficiency guided her through every season, shaping her into an inspiring force within her family and among her friends.
Her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as the proud owner of Charlie's Thrift Store, serving the communities of Buena Vista, Georgia, and Perry, Florida, for over 20 years. Charlotte built her business on honesty and hard work, creating a welcoming environment for shoppers and neighbors alike. Her infectious energy, resourcefulness, and genuine care for others established her stores as local gathering places, where friendships and memories flourished.
Charlotte’s world extended beyond her business. She cherished time spent cooking, sewing, gardening, and, fittingly, thrifting. These hobbies were more than pastimes; they were expressions of her creativity and love, lovingly shared with her family and imparted to future generations.
Family was at the center of Charlotte’s heart and remained her proudest accomplishment. She is survived by her beloved daughters: Pamela Burgamy (Gene), Dawn Renee' Bracewell, Myrtice Ann Wentz and Jessika Rosado Bittner; her sons, James H. Head, Jr. and Charles Jay Sapp; her sister, Tammy Hicks, as well as 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Their lives are lasting testaments to Charlotte’s devotion, care, and the enduring legacy she leaves behind.
She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Victor Rosado; her daughter, Judy Kay Collins; sisters Judy Lynch, Martha Butcher, and Shirley Dyer; her brother, Marcus Smith; her father, Charles Smith; her mother, Della Mae Watkins; and her stepmother, Ola Smith. Charlotte’s memory will live on in the hearts of those she deeply loved and who now mourn her passing.
Those who knew Charlotte remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who faced life’s ups and downs with grace and resolve. Her story serves as a beacon of strength, independence, and unconditional love—a life truly well lived.
Charlotte A. Rosado’s legacy continues in the smiles, successes, and kindnesses of her children, grandchildren, and those whose lives she brightened. Her memory will forever be honored and cherished.
