Cleveland “Clark” Stallings, 48, of Hamilton, Georgia, tragically passed away on September 4, 2025. Born on September 19, 1976, in Columbus, Georgia, Clark was the son of Deborah Schultz and the late Dan Stallings.
Clark was best known as the creator of Gesus Palomino Candied Jalapeños, but beyond his work, he was defined by his love of life and the outdoors. Whether boating, fishing, or hunting, he found joy in nature and in sharing those moments with family and friends. Clark never met a stranger and was known for his warm personality, easy laughter, and gift for bringing people together. Clark was a great cook, and many memories were made around the grill with the ones he cherished dearly.
Above all, Clark’s greatest joy was being a father. He treasured every moment with his daughters, Cate and Margo, and with his wife, Worth—whether on the river or simply enjoying family time together at their home. Clark would make time for his girls even if it meant traveling multiple states in a day to be there for just a moment. Taking the girls hunting was one of his favorite pastimes, and the proud daddy he was when one of them would outshoot most people in the field. Some of their happiest memories included taking the dogs on boat rides, enjoying sunset cruises, savoring great cocktails, laughing, and living life to the fullest.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Worth Williams Stallings; his daughters, Catherine Harvard Stallings, Margaret Rivers Stallings, Elizabeth Sudduth Cliatt (Wade) and family, and Lansdon Sudduth Cartledge (Andrew) and family; mother Deborah Thompson Schultz and husband Billy Schultz; his sister Ridley Elizabeth Stallings; his loyal dogs, Charlie and Jess; along with many extended family and countless friends who loved him deeply and will carry his memory forward.
His legacy of love, humor, and joy will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
A Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Big Eddy Club, 1300 Big Eddy Rd, Columbus, GA 31904. A reception and celebration will immediately follow at the same location.
