Claude E. Hittell, Sr., 76, of Columbus, GA died Friday, November 4, 2016 at Columbus Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held at a later according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Hittell was born May 2, 1940 in Lake Monroe, FL son of the late Claude Emanuel Hittell and Mary Goodrum Hittell. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was the Owner and Operator of Hittell Trucking Company. Mr. Hittell was a member of the VFW and was a Mason. He loved singing Johnny Cash songs in Karaoke. Mr. Hittell was also a Pinochle Champ!
Survivors include his daughter, Sonja Jones (Bobby) of Pine Mountain, GA, sons, Claude Hittell, Jr. of Columbus, GA and Frank Hittell of Jacksonville, FL, sister, Linda Louise Jaeger of LaGrange, GA, brothers, Tommy Hittell of Geneva, FL and Richard Hittell (Wanda) of Deltona, FL, and grandsons, Eric Julian Jones and Landon Lee Jones both of Pine Mountain, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Shriners Hospital 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607.
