Csm (Ret.) Horace Hughes

CSM (Ret.) Horace Hughes, 82, passed away on December 23, 2020, at his home in Midland, Georgia. Horace fought a hard battle with cancer. Horace was a deservingly proud Army Veteran with 30 years of distinguished service, culminating with multiple assignments as a Command Sergeant Major. Horace Hughes was born to Mark and Hattie Hughes on November 9, 1938, in Lyons, Georgia and was raised in Savannah. He married Ursula Hughes, November 24, 1972, in Mannheim, Germany.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Hattie Hughes, and his youngest son Jerry Hughes.
Horace is survived by his loving wife Ursula Hughes, children Rick (Beverly) Hertenberger, Harry (Sarah) Hughes, Diane (Judy) Titchenell, David (Kriss) Hughes and wife of Jerry Hughes, Marion. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial graveside service with Military Honors will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 12, 2020 at Ft. Benning Main Post Cemetery.
